In a departure from standard protocol, this mission missive was not posted in the public areas of the Spire as usual. Instead, members of the 227th Expedition found the document affixed prominently in their faction's private gathering area. Each faction's leader - Richtor Hadden for the Teeth of Noor, Stanczyk for the Eye of Antiquity, and Shiori Min for the Hand of Tomorrow - personally posted the missive, sealed with the official crest of Primarch Zeix Amaranth.

MISSION MISSIVE: LAST PUSH

THIRD GRAND EXPEDITION OF THE 227TH

Danger Level: Extreme, Lethal

A personal address from Primarch Zeix Amaranth

Brave souls of the 227th Expedition,

I write to you not as a distant figurehead, but as a comrade who understands the weight of your burden. The Council, your faction leaders, and I have engaged in extensive, often heated discussions about the future of this expedition, particularly in light of recent events. The loss of three of your own - two miraculously returned through means we cannot fathom - has shaken us all to our core.

Let me be clear: there is no division among us regarding the gravity of the threat we face. We are in complete agreement that the Voiceless pose a critical danger to our expedition and any future missions in that area of the Eternal Lands. We also unanimously recognize the immense value each of you brings to this mission and to our future.

Our deliberations centered not on whether to act, but on how best to proceed while safeguarding your lives and the 227th itself. Many on the Council advocated for a pause, arguing that we need time to research and better understand the threats you face. Your faction leaders - Richtor Hadden, Stanczyk, and Shiori Min - emphasized your exceptional abilities and unwavering resolve. As for myself, I saw in our history a pattern that suggested pressing forward was our best chance at success.

After much debate, we reached a compromise that all parties believe serves both the urgency of our situation and the preservation of your lives. We will proceed with this expedition, but with the understanding that its outcome will be decisive. Your primary objective is now crystal clear: eliminate the Voiceless threat. We must secure our foothold in the Eternal Lands and ensure the safety of future expeditions.

This decision was not made lightly. It is born from a deep respect for your capabilities and a clear-eyed assessment of the danger.

The opening of the portal in the Eternal Lands is the largest jump forward towards progress in recent history. Time and again, when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges, humanity has not just endured, but evolved. It's as if some greater force, call it fate if you will, has been guiding us towards this moment. And now, I can't shake the feeling that we stand at a crucial juncture, a point where the threads of fate converge.

The Shattered Storm - a cataclysm that nearly ended us all. As the very skies and ground tore around us, our ancestors didn't cower or retreat. They stood firm, harnessed the chaos, and emerged not just survivors, but masters of a new form of magic.

The disappearance of the gods - an event that could have spelled doom for humanity. We filled the void left by their absence, taking our destiny into our own hands. We built new systems of governance, new philosophies, and forged a path forward on our own terms.

And most recently, and perhaps most importantly- the Deadlock. Roera faced this challenge with both courage and wisdom. We recognized the time for debate and the moment for action. It was our ancestors' balanced approach - careful deliberation followed by decisive action - that saved us all from the gestalt threat.

The portal you've established in the Eternal Lands is not just a technological marvel - it's the next step in this grand journey of human resilience and progress. Patterns of history tell us that there is a time for caution and a time for bold action. The Council's wisdom in knowing when to deliberate and when to act has served us well. Now, we believe, is the time to press forward. With caution, but also with determination.

Your primary objective is clear: eliminate the Voiceless threat. This is crucial not just for your own safety, but for the viability of all future expeditions to this region of the Eternal Lands. Gather every remaining scrap of information about these entities, find their weaknesses, and neutralize them entirely. I must stress the gravity of this mission: if the Voiceless threat is not eliminated, we will have no choice but to pause all expeditions to the Eternal Lands for the foreseeable future. The risks are simply too great to continue otherwise.

Understand this: your mission is to be completed at all costs. You have full authority to take whatever actions you deem necessary to achieve your objectives. If you encounter any obstacles or threats that stand in the way of eliminating the Voiceless, you have predisposition to deal with them as you see fit. The survival of the expedition and the completion of the mission take precedence over all other considerations.

Furthermore, be aware that you may encounter mercenary groups or other unauthorized parties in the Eternal Lands. If you come across any group not officially sanctioned by the Council—that is, anyone not part of the Teeth of Noor, the Eye of Antiquity, or the Hand of Tomorrow—you have full discretion to handle the situation as you judge best. As a point of reference, the Deathhawk Group you encountered in your previous expedition and chose to bring back are currently awaiting high-level tribunals, where they face the most severe penalties our laws allow. The unauthorized presence in the Eternal Lands is considered an offense of the highest order. We trust your judgment in dealing with similar situations, whether that means detaining such groups for later judgment or taking other appropriate actions based on the circumstances you face.

While secondary objectives remain, they are subordinate to dealing with the Voiceless:

  1. Research other encountered Nightmares.

  2. Recover information about the Dragon's Breath and its crew.

  3. Document findings related to previous Expeditions.

  4. Investigate structures near the portal and study godstongue tablets.

However, there is another matter that personally concerns me. As you know, there are basic laws that govern our world: gravity, the passage of time, and crucially, the finality of death. Yet, your experiences in the Eternal Lands - particularly the inexplicable resurrections - suggest that this fundamental law has exceptions.

This raises a profound question: What are the Eternal Lands, actually? How can a place exist where one of the most basic tenets of existence - that what is dead must stay dead - seems to be mutable? As you pursue your objectives, keep this question in mind.

Your strength lies in unity and your diverse skills. Lean on each other and trust in your training. The entire leadership of Roera - the Council, your faction leaders, and myself - have faith in your abilities and will support you through this perilous mission.

Eliminate the Voiceless and return to us safely. You are the next link in the chain of humanity's perseverance. Forge it strong.

May the wisdom of our past and the promise of our future guide and protect you.
